&lt;/ul&gt;<br />
&lt;p&gt;Tetrapod mempunyai empat lengan konkrit yang saling mencangkuk apabila disusun. Bentuk ini membantu:&lt;/p&gt;<br />
&lt;ol&gt;<br />
&lt;li&gt;memecahkan dan menyuraikan tenaga ombak;&lt;/li&gt;<br />
&lt;li&gt;membenarkan sebahagian air mengalir melalui ruang antaranya;&lt;/li&gt;<br />
&lt;li&gt;mengurangkan pantulan ombak yang kuat;&lt;/li&gt;<br />
&lt;li&gt;melindungi benteng, pelabuhan dan pantai daripada hakisan.&lt;/li&gt;<br />
&lt;/ol&gt;<br />
&lt;p&gt;Jadi, istilah paling sesuai untuk objek dalam gambar ialah &lt;strong&gt;tetrapod konkrit&lt;/strong&gt;, manakala struktur perlindungan pantai secara keseluruhannya disebut &lt;strong&gt;pemecah ombak tetrapod&lt;/strong&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;<br />
